Girlfriends – I’ve learnt something very important last weekend and I’m going to share with you.

Perk Me Up! by Lurve and eMedispa

I was invited by eMedispa to attend its Perk Me Up workshops on 15th and 16th at Bride and Beauty 2009 last Sunday.  eMedispa is a participant of the trade show and had their booth at F25 of Convention Hall 403/404 between 14 ~ 16 August 09 (Fri to Sat).

eMedispa

….is a Medi-Aesthetic beauty and spa boutique that provides state-of-the-art aesthetics services under the supervision of a doctor. Nothing under the knives for its customers, only the gentle corrections and the heavenly pampers from a spa.

As a professional boutique of its league, eMedispa collaborates with experts from the field to provide its customers a well round, wholesome experience. In fact, the workshop I attended was brought to us by Lurve, its partner for Contouring Lingerie, with guest presence from Asia Chiropractic.

I arrived there earlier in the morning to catch up with Ms. Ruth Saw, the owner of Lurve and the speaker for the workshop later at noon. She would be sharing the insider’s tips on how to shape up our vital statistics with the right posture, massages and very importantly, day-to-day support from the right bra and underwear.

Meanwhile, I took the opportunity to snoop around the booth to check out their products and services.

The Workshop Begins….  

 

  

Some of the participants who turned up for Perk Up! came back again on Sunday for Butt Up! . This goes to show that nobody would have too much of great tips and advices.

While most audiences are women, there were a couple of guys who accompanied their partners there. Thumbs up, guys! We women love to have supportive better halves!

 

According to a survey by Lurve, 60% of the man finds both butt and busts equally important!

  

The workshop was quite a revelation to me. I found myself constantly amazed by the info I received, which I’ve made a list. Here it goes:

 

Bust it!

1) Up to 80% of women neither select the right type of brassieres nor wear them correctly. Just because a bra is sexy or expensive does not mean it will provide the best fit or support for you!

2) Many women could be unsuspecting victims of the repetitive use of ill-fitting bras. Wearing ill-fitting brassieres can cause one to slouch or hunch.

3) A lot of us suffer from common ailments such as underdeveloped breasts, hunched backs, back bulges, stiff/shortened necks, a bulging tummy, neck, shoulder and back pains possibly as a result of an unsuitable lingerie!

 

Butt then….

4) My favourite thongs would not give me support at the butt cheeks, as a result my butts will sag, get cellulite or orange peel effects (Darn!!)

5) Not all supporting underwears are good. Some are too tight at the butt area, hence resulting in underdeveloped butt cheeks!

6) In worse cases, unsupportive underwears resulting in half sagging butt cheeks. You end up getting a ‘divided nation’ on your panty lines!! (Sounds familiar?)

Contouring Lingerie works on the same theory as braces - the body is held up to the right shape till it’s adjusted.

The Good News

1) It IS POSSIBLE to UPSIZE the natural way.  There is hope for the small and unshapely!

2) You can put on weight…as long as they go to the right place!

3) By wearing the right brassiere consistently, you will gradually attain uplifted breasts and bodyline. Ladies in their 40s, 50s or even 60s can still be “perked up” and be all ready to party!

 With the right lingerie and correct posture, you get a natural upsize immediately, busts and butts!

Most runway models have flat chests and butts because they always go about without lingerie during their shows. Hmm…so there are really not much to envy about huh?

 

A Quick List of Take-Aways

- Your bra gives you the support at the back and neck

- Bad support leads to bad posture and you can look short, neck-less and fat even when you are not (!!)

- Contouring lingerie does not have to be tight to breathless. In fact, it shouldn’t be.

- A good pair of contouring undies helps to ‘sweep’ the fats away from your thighs towards the bum, hence giving your lower body a slimmer and perked up effect.

 

Tips from a Chiropractic

We are honoured to have Dr. Sharah Downey from Asia Chiropractic to share with us ways to keep our butts firmed and taut.

For us OLs who spend our days sitting down most of the time, we may not know but we are really flattening our butts after the many long hours.

But thank goodness there are ways to push the fats back and get our butts firmed up again, just with simple exercises. So here we go!(Click on image for a bigger view.)

 

Wrapping Up

It was a fun afternoon, seeing the ladies checking out ‘evidents of horror’ along with Ruth’s instructions.

Ruth had put together a sincere delivery. The presentation was practical, teaching us to understand our body better and tips relevant to women of all ages. (By the way, Ruth is herself a walking testimony of her own products. She is all curves!)

The workshop reminded us again that

 

There is never an ugly woman, it’s just how much efforts you put in.

 

We all have in us to be a princess. And that sometimes, it’s easier to work on our fundamentals rather than jumping the gun (or knives and needles in some case). (P.s. I’m also invited to try out Lurve contouring lingerie at eMedispa. I’m really excited! Will let you know it goes!)
