I went on a date last Friday. A date after nearly 1 year in Singapore.
Kinda date. Because this time I spend more time with the person.
I met up with someone for Happy Hour.
This person who was supposed to come along with me for New Year Eve countdown but he played us out. Till today I still think he sucks.
Originally, he’s the colleague of a girlfriend of mine. He’s based here in Singapore and she’s based in Shanghai. But with a twist of fate, I become their colleague as well. And so when she’s here in town 2 weeks back, he’s invited to join us.
But this terrible useless scumbag played us out without even informing us. And he has the cheek to ‘sulk’ coz I don’t really want to meet up with him to hear his ‘advise’ on how to go about in the company.
Anyways, I decided to meet up eventually because I’m the one to work under the same roof as him in Singapore.
Yes, I’ve never met him before. So you can call our date a blind date.
Mr. Blind Date is 5 years younger than me, of a different race and has never met me in person and already proclaimed he “has good feelings about me”.
And when he met me, he told me he likes my teeth, my hair, my eyes, ….etc. Have you gotten goosepimples yet? Because if you haven’t, I have.
And then he asked me why dun I try dating him. There are even more bizzare things being told, which I am not keen to be reminded of the topic again.
I told him I want to try dating a pure born and bred Singaporean guy. Haha…I was too polite to tell him he bores me and I can’t wait for the ‘date’ to be over.
I was offered to be driven home but I insisted on taking the subway. I told him I enjoy the ride home. I’m honest about it. I am too tired by then to keep my manners and smile at him the whole journey back.
But he was nice enough to text me after we parted that he enjoyed being with me. Unfortunately I can’t be bothered to respond.
That’s the problem of hanging out with younger guys. I’m just too lazy to be a teacher, let alone be a teacher to the guy I’m dating.
Having been there, done that, I never enjoy going back on the same path. Just like I would rather look older like now than to relive my 20-year-old again.
I’m sorry if you guys are attracted to much older women. Not all the women are maternal enough to want to date a younger boy.
At least not me.

Oh!
Wow.
I am speechless! Hmmm … it doesn’t quite come to my mind that age gap – either way – could be a criteria. Anyway, keep the dating reporting coming!
Haha…which aspect led you speechless, Wilfrid? Me being not receptive towards younger blokes?
Well, my friends always said my eyes grow on top of my head not for no reasons!! ;DD
Well … I am speechless on quite a few things. On how direct he is, on your view towards younger guys, and etc
[...] this stranger seems familiar. I suspected he was that guy whom I went happy hour with – based on his height and voice (yes, partition is quite thin between booths). But I [...]
